Arches National Park elopement | Off road RZR adventure | Moab Wedding Photographer
James and Breanna travelled all the way from England for their destination elopement in Arches National Park and their wedding on the La Sal Mountains at the incredible location of Whispering Oaks Ranch. They brought their closest family and friends to join them in their wedding celebrations, and truly had such an amazing and adventurous elopement experience!
Planning a destination wedding in Moab, can be a tiring thing to do, and I was so thrilled that James and Breanna trusted me to find the perfect locations for their elopement.
Brag moment ahead -
I live in Moab, and know every part of it like the back of my hand. I spend my days off roading in my RZR exploring Moab and soaking up all the beauty of my backyard views of the La Sal Mountains and Moab’s rim. I spend a lot of time hiking in Arches National Park, exploring the trails at Deadhorse Point, watching the sunrise in Canyonlands National Park. I’m a true Moab local, and take pride in the fact that I can give all my knowledge and experience to my clients to help them plan the perfect destination wedding or elopement here. I can show you the hidden gem locations, secret waterfalls, or off road trails that most people don’t know about. Even most Moab locals might now know of! So, it means a lot to me when my bride and groom trust me to find the perfect locations for them.
Back to this epic destination elopement…
We all woke up extremely early on Saturday morning. 4 am comes very quick. We hiked the trail up to the North Window Arch to watch the sunrise and to have James see Breanna for the first time in her wedding dress. This was one beautiful first look. It was perfect Moab weather. That sunrise hitting the arch created the most gorgeous light. One of the other best things about this sunrise, is that we were able to beat the crowds that come into Arches National Park everyday. On our way out of the park, there was a giant line of cars that seemed to last forever, of people waiting to get into the park. It definitely pays off to know when to go to certain locations, so you can beat the crowd of tourists.
Their rehearsal dinner was held at Whispering Oaks Ranch that evening, which is a stunning location on the La Sal Mountain. I was able to be with them and their family for the rehearsal and capture a few candid moments of them with their family and friends.
The next morning I drove my Polaris RZR up the mountain trail to the Whispering Oaks Ranch, for their wedding ceremony and reception. I brought with me, my own wedding veil for Breanna to use because the one she had bought was left in Denver, Colorado. There is no local place in Moab to buy a wedding veil, so I was more than happy to lend her my veil. My clients always end up becoming close friends of mine, because we spend so much time together, and I get to be a part of their most momentous life moments. So, of course, I’m here for anything that my friends and clients might need. I even brought with me, a few Red Bulls for Brea, to make sure she had a little boost of energy towards the end of the wedding day!
Every detail of the wedding was so thought out. From the hand picked beer from Moab Brewery, the BBQ feast from Spitfire Smokehouse, the personal gifts for each guest, and it seemed as though every moment of the day was filled with meaning. Breanna and James created such a memorable experience for everyone to celebrate their love and union.
Brea and James honeymooned around Utah. They hiked through Bryce Canyon, Horseshoe bend, Zion National Park, and many more epic locations. They really experienced Utah and I’m so exciting I was able to be a part of their destination wedding in Moab!
